Nature of work

At A1 Sport, our Customer Service & Inside Sales Representative is there to help customers with questions, complaints, concerns or any problems they may have with a product or order. He will also be responsible for product sales and business development with Canadian sports and outdoor retailers. Using primarily email and telephone communication, the candidate is able to employ effective customer service and sales strategies to get our customers and buyers what they want. Duties include closing sales and pursuing new sales opportunities while keeping in mind inventory levels and seasonality.

Main duties

The role of a Customer Service Representative is to help customers understand the products offered by our company. They respond to retailer and/or consumer inquiries by phone, email, web or social media. A customer service representative also deals with concerns, complaints or other problems. Their job is to help ensure customer satisfaction.

As an Inside Sales Representative, you will solicit new business opportunities and maintain relationships and activity with existing accounts. You will process sales transactions, provide product information and inform retailers of seasonal programs, promotions and product launches while working in an office environment with other team members.

Tasks

  • Respond to customer inquiries by e-mail or telephone in a professional manner.
  • Establish relationships with customers.
  • Handle customer complaints by providing solutions, often within a limited timeframe, to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Learn to identify customer needs or desires in order to recommend the appropriate product.
  • Identify sales opportunities.
  • Close sales to meet established targets.
  • Learn the systems and software used by the company to be able to communicate effectively.
  • Keep records of incoming requests for future reference
  • Be able to process orders and requests efficiently.
  • Work as part of a team to respond to customer needs and requests.
  • Provide relevant feedback to other departments to help improve sales, marketing and product development processes.
  • Get to know the company's products and brands, as well as those of the competition.

Required training

  • Sales and/or customer service training
  • College or vocational diploma required.

Experience

  • 2 years' experience in customer service and/or inside sales
  • Experience in the Canadian sport and outdoor market
  • Technical knowledge of bicycle parts an asset
